Itinerary

  • Day 1: Beijing, Arrival

Welcome to China! Touch down in Beijing and meet your guide for a one-hour private transfer to your downtown hotel.

If you are landing at Daxing International airport, after meeting the guide and checking your luggage, you may spend some time sightseeing at the new airport of Beijing to discover its marvelously laid Chinese elements.

  • Day 2: Beijing, Forbidden City

Begin your discovery of the capital city from Tiananmen Square, the political landmark of today's China. Next, enter the 600-year-old Forbidden City, the imperial citadel of the feudal Ming and Qing Dynasties, marveling at the architectural wonders and listening to the most-talked stories of the royal families.

After an authentic Chinese lunch, climb up the artificial Jingshan Hill for panoramic views of the splendid royal palace complex and the central axle of this historic city.

  • Like the locals, start a new day at the Temple of Heaven. Beyond marveling at the elegance of the architecture itself, you may also join the locals doing morning exercises: playing Tai Chi, dancing with swords, singing Peking opera, or practicing Chinese calligraphy on the ground with a huge brush and water.

Then comes the day's highlight - visiting the Great Wall of China. Driving about 1.5 hours, you'll get to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall (less crowded, with a cable car up and down). Walking on the venerable ramparts, you will undoubtedly be awed by this magnificent and unbelievable construction. Besides, its surrounding landscape is also stunning.

  • Day 4: Beijing - Xi'an

Have the morning to walk into one of the few-remaining Hutongs, a traditional community featuring narrow alleys lined with quadrangle courtyard, visit a local family, and enjoy a home-made lunch.

In the afternoon, board a bullet train to Xi'an. Arrival in about five hours, be picked up and transferred to your hotel for checking-in.

  • Day 5: Xi'an, Terracotta Army

The Terracotta Warriors undoubtedly made Xi'an world-famous. Today, you will see the legendary Terracotta Army. Although these soldiers have been buried underground for over 2,200 years, they still look alive, and you can even imagine different stories from the vivid expressions on their faces. After exploring, you may find the remarkable fact that no two warriors are the same.

In the afternoon, get back to the city to explore the bustling Muslim Street and the undisturbed Great Mosque in a backstreet.

  • Day 6: Xi'an - Shanghai

Visit the Drum Tower this morning for a general understanding of Chinese solar terms and an ancient drum music performance. Later, on the way to the airport, visit Hanyang Tomb with smaller-size and more colorful sculptures displaying various scenes full of vitality.

Arriving in Shanghai by a 2.5-hour flight, meet your guide for a private transfer to the hotel.

  • Day 7: Shanghai City Tour

Recognize Shanghai from the Bund, with colonial buildings with different styles standing along it prominently since the 1920s. Next, visit a tiny and exquisite Chinese Garden – the Yu Garden. Outside it, stroll around the busy bazaar and visit a silk workshop before continuing to explore the Former French Concession. For the rest of the afternoon, immerse yourself in the myriads collections of the Shanghai Museum.

  • Day 8: Shanghai, Departure

Meet your driver at the appointed time for a private transfer to the airport, and bid farewell to China.

Welcome your return to discover more natural and cultural beauties in this land.
